Oaxaca Estudio Abierto Askari Mateos Oaxaca Estudio Abierto stands to be a transcendental event among artists and the public interested in their painted creations. It will be a happening in which the artists of Oaxaca will open their studios or workshops to the public on the 22nd. 23rd and 24th of July during the Guelaguetza week. The purpose, says organizer Oscar Carrizosa, will be to allow the people to interact with the artists and to see where and how they create their renowned works of art that have brought fame to Oaxaca. At the same time, Oaxaca Estudio Abierto, allows collectors to see and acquire fresh works. The workshops of these famous artists will be open from 1 to 11 pm and at the end of each day there will be a closing celebration at the Salon Central. And so those who are interested will be able to see the works of Aarón García, Abelardo López, Adan Paredes, Alejandra Villegas, Alejandro santiago, Amador Montes, Arnulfo Mendoza, Azteca de Gyvés, Carlo Magno, Cristina Luna, Cinthya Martínez, Demetrio Polgovsky, Diego Yturbe, Eddie Martínez, Enrique López, Felipe de Jesús Morales, Fernando Andriacci, Fernando Olivera, Fernando Sandoval, Gerardo de la Barrera, Guillermo Roel, Guillermo Olguín, Guillermo Brena, Guillermo Pacheco, Hugo Vélez, Irma Guerrero, Israel Montes, Israel Nazario, Juan Alcázar, Justina Fuentes, Laurie Litowitz, Manuel de Cisneros, Marco Bustamante, Miriam Ladrón de Guevara, Misael Méndez, Oscar Carrizosa, Oscar Amador, Raúl Herrera, Raúl Soruco, Rolando Rojas, Rosa Vallejo, Samuel Rojas, Santiago Rebolledo, Sara Corenstein, Saúl Castro, Sergio Hernández, Tomás Pineda, Víctor Anderson, Virgilio Santaella, Virginia Filip among many others. The inauguration of Oaxaca Estudio Abierto will be held on the 21st of July at 8 pm in the Instituto de Artes Graficas de Oaxaca, where Fernando Galvez de Aguinaga will give a talk about the art produced in Oaxaca. Also, Carrizosa announced that to make this encounter of artists and public happen, maps showing the location of the artist’s shops and studios will be given out showing their locations in the Center, Jalatlaco, Xochimilco and San Felipe. They will be available at the tourist information booths and at the major museums in the city of Oaxaca. They will also be available along with programs on the web page www.go-oaxaca.com
